Duplicates possible in meta collection

I have a question on meta collection ( let’s say ‘M’). If same url is part of two collections ( let’s say A & B) which are part of a meta collection. Assuming both the A & B are consistent and have same meta data, facets, etc)

In that case, If I use M as a collection to point and search, will the url appear ONCE in search results or will it appear TWICE in the search results ?

Hi kanwaljit,

The URL (or we know it as a document) will appear twice if it is present in both component collections (A & B). Funnelback has a few features to avoid duplicates being included as part of the index but that happens at a component level.

I recommend either combining documents from A and B into one collection or alternatively, ensure that same URLs are not crawled in both.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Result collapsing might be something that can help you here, depending on what it is you want to do.
