Emmanuel Katto Dubai : Can anyone recommend a way to view or retrieve subject metadata from a PDF file?

Hello,

I am Emmanuel Katto from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), I have a client who has done a fantastic job setting up internal metadata for her PDFs. As a result, when we receive the search results, the title and date fields are correctly mapped into the resulting JSON.

We would like to utilize the Subject metadata from the PDFs as the summary in these results. Is there a way to reference this Subject metadata to either map it directly to the summary or include it as additional metadata in the results?

For context, this client is using version 15.8.

PDF metadata should be extracted available for mapping. In 15.8 you might need to view the cached version of your PDF document and inspect the source to see what the extracted metadata fields are named.

In v16 after you have indexed the site available fields will show up when mapping items.
