How can I access internal Subject metadata from a pdf

Hello,

I have a client who has set up excellent internal metadata for her pdf’s.

As a result, when the results are returned for pdfs the title and date fields are being mapped correctly into the result json.

We would like to use the Subject metadata from the pdf as the summary in the results. Is there a way that I can refer to this Subject metadata so that I can either map it to the summary or as metadata on the result.

I should add that this client is on version 15.8

Hi Karen! :slight_smile:

First thing to try is map the subject metadata to a metadata class in Funnelback. By default, a few standard subject metadata are mapped to “s”. Once the field has been mapped, you will be able to expose it in the template or via the JSON endpoint.

We do something similar to our pdfs at AQA.

Here is a snippet from our metamap cfg file:
