What logic/source is used to capture and log the user IP for each search in the logs?

If multiple user’s are coming through a proxy server - would we track the IP from the proxy server or each individual user work stations?

I’d refer you to:

Assuming the X-Forwarded-For header contains the client’s IP at some point, we can apply a collection-level configuration to ignore a range of IP addresses for logging, ensuring proxy servers aren’t incorrectly logged against clicks and queries.
